Professor Yi-xin Zeng is  the present director of  the Cancer  Center. After taking his M.D. from  Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences in 1990, Professor Zeng  went to Tokyo University Medical  Research  Institute, Japan to take to a research in molecular biology. For the  excellent results in his research project, he was engaged as an associate research fellow  by Pennsylvania  University  Medical Research Institute of  US and later as a visiting scholar. Trepel Lab of US National Oncology Research Institute also engaged him as a senior scientist. He has published at least 5 academic papers in the international authentic journals such as NATURE, etc., making some good influence in the international oncology circle. Because of his academic achievements and influence abroad,  he was invited particularly by Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences university to  work. In 1996, he  was director in the Cancer Center at his age of 35,and became the youngest director in the history of this university.
